For those who have watched this long ago, you guys must be laughing at me... As I know this is a movie that has been up for long, but I just managed to watch it today for the first time. =)

Not saying that it is the best movie ever. BUT I wanna say I really see true love after that man gave his life!!!! Just can't hold my tears throughout the second half of the movie!!!

And what really shocked me in this movie, is the part towards the end where his dad told his son the fact about his mum. You gonna watch this movie, if you have not!!!

I use to be Miss Tall & Miss Strong. Like to be the tough girl, do everything on my own, hope I don't have to trouble anyone or let anyone to worry about me. Keep moulding myself to become even stronger (be it talent, physcial, character, studies, etc.). But I do still have weakness, because Josephine is not perfect. But I know there is ONE who is perfect, and with Him I can overcome everything. He even placed this besti and this buddy in my life (or you can say they have really bushed into my life, LOL), because no one is created to live alone, but living life together. - that is what He called fellowship.

Even a million thanks is not enough. Thank them not because of what they have done, but just because of who they are, who appear in my life more than a friend, more than a blessing.

Hope my presence, will also bring you both great joy be it in the past or in the future.

The Thing I don't Deserve

Rui En is one of the actress who I really like. A gorgeous actress. I am really glad she got her 1st acting award this year. On stage, she said a phrase that makes me think a lot.
She said something on the same line, that she don't deserve so much support from all her fans, and thank them for giving her "bu qiu hui bao de ai"- chinese phrase, which means love without aspecting any form of reward back. Hope that her career will continue to burn, and be the star that shine.

"Bu qiu hui bao de ai", I want to say it to the most important person in my life too.
He gave me the salvation that I don't deserve.
He gave me the love that I don't deserve.
He gave me everthing that I have now.
In this life time, I will never ever will be able to repay back what He has done for me.
What I can do is just to say, "I thank you with a thankful heart..."

Have been going through great time while studying photography in England.
Fine art photography is really amazing which make me want to be part of it. In uni. I have been learning the convention, masters, technical aspects and creativity concepts. It is a great privilege to be in this art industry.

It seems like Josephine is chasing after many things...which she don't have to...but she wants to...
becos of many reasons.

She can choose to live a normal life...but after placing herself in the photography world and chrisitianity, a life with Jesus. Life just can't be normal and smooth anymore.

These became her passion. On top of that, these are things that make her heart beats.

Her Reading

Today start to read a few books again which I borrowed from school.

Those who know me well, I really can't read books. Everytime I attempt to pick up a book to read, I will end up falling asleep...Which I feel bad about it but just can't help it.
That is also the reason why I am not good in my language.

But after going to University, I can't escape from reading books.
Read 3 books today. Started out with the book with the least words =)
The Invention of Photography, The First Fifty Years.

After reading, it changes one of my thinking. I have been wanting to be the best photographer, always thinking how can I be the best photographer. Work really hard for it.
But I realise today, it is really not the way to go. I read about Daguerre and Nicephore Niepce who really work very hard to contribute to the photography world or now people call it industry.
They try many ways and took many time to make photography successful.

I want to be a blessing from now, reading as much as I can and to really contribute to this area so that there will be more improvement to be made. Contribute, giving and not gaining from it.

Giving is also what my God has teach me.

Lesson Wk Four

Lecturer voice up some questions in today's lesson.
Which make me think.

1. Is assigments just ticking the boxes?
2. What is your dream?

On the way home I was answering these questions in my mind.

To answer the first question...
Yeah. Sometimes I do take assigments like a check list, just want to finish it well and full stop. Take that for granted. That question really wake me up.

As for the second question...
I have no clear dream in my mind before. Keep changing.
But for now I want to work towards these things in mind.

Challange myself in the next two years to be one of the best magazine photographer in Asia, and combine my graphic skills and photography concept together. And looking through photos of many high end brands advertising photos in magazines and say "oh yeah that's mine!"

After fighting the above challange, will like to do something I super enjoy doing. Is to help couples to take their wedding photos. To play a big part of their beautiful memories. Capturing one of the biggest decision make in their life.

At the same time, I would love to be a curator. Putting up plateform for photography. A way of communication. Curator of many impactful exhibitions.

Lastly, when I have the ability and experience. Would really like to teach the next generation what is photography. Be a great lecturer who pass on the skills.

Sunday Raining Day

Today wake up in the morning. Raining!!! Cool. Took out a map with me finding the way to the church I want to go, on the website. Then this morning try to walk alone there. But in the end I still cant find the place.
Next week I will try walking again, after today's experience I know the route more. Today as I walk I saw many new buildings and beautiful things.And I went to explore more places and shops. Bought one doggy calendar for my friend Eileen Cheung. She like dog a lot. First thing I want to buy and give her. Then I bought a blue flurry pillow (with small flower pattern) Look expensive but not =)

Early in the morning after reading the bible, I thought of doing some small things for all my roommates. Saw the small notes with the chocolates??? I place it outside of the room doors, before I went out =)

Thank God for blessing me. That's the reason why I love giving to my friends.

A Break

Today is the day I decided to take a break/ rest, after stressful week of school.
Hehehehehe!!!
Webcam with my lifegroup in the afternoon (which is their dinner time)
So happy after webcaming with them.
Hearing all of their voices. So familiar, but not heard for long...

Then after that I went out for a short tour around my new place, to get to know more shops around. Then went to supermarket again, to buy food. I am like a house wife now, go market and cook everyday. -_-

Stress Coming

I won't be able to blog everyday. Cos time running out =)

But whenever I can, I will.

This week really stress in school, many assignments to complete within a week.

Some of my classmates, said why is there so much work loads. Then the lecturer said, "Welcome to University!" with a big smile.

Which is true. Yup I'm in uni now, taking a BA course.

Actually I'm prepared, but still tough when you are in the process.

But yeah, I am Josephine Chan, God's child!

And yeah I really loss weight here, lost more than 3 Kg after coming here for one week plus.

But I am cooking everyday. Above are some of my cooking photos =)

Came here, learn how to cook, wash clothings, walk to school, go supermarket, vacumme the floor, read many books to improve my English, making new friends (which is the toughest for me) Cos I am definitely an introvert.

My 1st Assignment

Today I was issued the 1st assignment of my photography course.

Awesome! It's about Taxonomy vs Folksonomy. Anyone of my friends know what that means, please tell me =)

I want to know and understand as much as I can.

So I will be able to think more and come out with a wonderful final artwork on that.

So other then the above 4 hours of school today. I got to cook again for my lunch.

I cook very healthy food (macaroni + tomatoes + potatos + cabbage + mushrooms)

Boil everything together.

Two Days in Birmingham

Went to visit my cousin in Birmingham, during my long weekends.

Friday morning I went to take train to Birmingham. 2 Hours train.

Reach there around 1pm, went to eat Chinese food!!!! I miss it so much.

Sadly the place I stay dont have, so I go there eat and eat. =)

There is a Chinatown there, where there are man chinese food and people.

After that I went to Eileen office tgt with her, cos her manager ask her to go back for awhile.

Her office is really very nice, I like the design.

I get lots of free gift there too. Key chains, t-shirts, camera bag and pens.

Hohohohoho.

Then at night we went to Star City, where all the arcades are =)

We win lots of things back. Amazing! There is a bright nice moon that night. Lovely.

And I play pool for the 1st time. Cousin teach me how to play =)

Then we went back home and my cousin cook dinner. Delicious...

Next day, went to shop. Do some window shopping.

Then home sweet home, get ready for school on Monday!!!!

On The Way From School Back Home

It is a quiet town, where population is not as crowded as Singapore.

So if you find it too quiet in your house, do on some music.

It is quite cold right now, around 14 degree. There is a heater provided in my room, which is very useful. I can dry my clothings with that too.

Nice town to stay in, supermarket is everywhere.

Just that I can't find any KFC or Macdonalds yet =)

Which I miss very much.

Third Day Of School

I must say I really miss mum cookings. Today I ate pizza again, which my cousin bought for me. And I heard it's mooncake festival!!! Singapore had many mooncakes. But nevermind, I had ate it before I came to England. Here I really can't find anyone selling.

That one, is my mum buy for me to eat before I fly. Is a black sesame seed flavour. Very nice.

Some updates of my school.

Today I went to the student union, where all the CCA are there. There is this christian group, ask me to go church tgt with them.

So I will going this Sunday. Church is called The Redeemed Christian Church of God.

Today I got free Lays and chocolates from school too.

And today got to know a few more friends.

Today I even help a new chinese guy, who is 1st day here, I lead him to school and help him ask for place to report, cos he is not good in his English. I wonder why they want study here.

So I am a small tour guide today =)

The First Three Days In England

This is the 1st day, where my cousin Eileen pick me up from the airport. We went to take a train from Manhester Airport to my accommodation 1st. Then we go to school to report.

Then we went to eat!!!! She paid for it, thanks! If not I wont eat such good food in a nice restruant. It's my 1st time trying olive (the last picture above).

And I got to know a new friend, Emma (my cousin good friend in England). She tell me many things about England, cos she live in England.

Oh then we go supermarket, wanted to buy food to pack in my house. Then we realise most of the shops are close. Cos on Sunday is their rest day, where many shop will close at 4pm on Sunday. So we went to a small mama shop, to buy the things we need =)

And this is my small little room. I will be staying here for a year. Then I will move to a house that is nearer to my school. Now I need to walk 20 min to school (up the hill, down the hill) And those who know me know I walk really fast. If it take me 20 min to walk, then that's far.

And I have 6 room mates with me, 7 room all tgt in one house. There are 4 levels all tgt. Big house with 4 toilets, 1 big kitchen (will take photos of that when I am free).

All my room mates are chinese, so I wont forget how to use chinese these two years.

Which is also good, I am more comfortable with that. And all of them are really friendly.

This few days I am real busy, cos I have to go school, and also get to pack my stuff to the various places.

But now today is the 3rd day. All things have been packed. GOOD JOB =)

Later I will go school again in 3 hours time! CYA!

The Waiting Period.

This week was my stress period, I am waiting for my student visa to be ready.
So I that I am able to travel to England to study.
But now I am stuck in Singapore.
I have changed the flight dates for 3 times already.

The whole day the handphone is always beside me, waiting for the one msg from them.
But it didn't happen yet.

Someone told me, I need to plan my time, dont waste away the time I have in Singapore.
Yup, and I have plan it. Is a bonus that I am still staying in Singapore, spending more time with parents especially. And I realise everyday I need to treasure making full use of it, because it is God given.

And I trust Him that He is in control. I have done my best to trace,call,apply and packed, all ready to go. And prayed everyday. And I will wait till He open the door.

Love my dad, and my heavenly Father.

I begin to really treasure this opportunity, and gonna study real hard, because it didn't come easy.

Empty Vessel

It's been a long time I have blog. Because really been busy with work, Youth Olympic Opening practices and preparing stuff for oversea studies. So no time to blog.
But today want to share something with all of you =)

Today something just come to my mind.
Reflecting on myself, am I an empty vessel (refer to a willing mind ready to receive teaching) all the time for God to use me?
Or is my vessel always so filled with work, entertainment or even studies?
Am I allowing the Holy Spirit to fill up my empty vessel in order to serve Him and see amazing things happen around me.

Ask myself today, that am I always a willing empty vessel ready to do His audcious works.
God I want more, more of your strenght, wisdom and love, to be able to be strong in character and able to do what You called me to do!

1st Youth Cup

24 June we had our first Youth Cup.

Took half day leave to play captain's ball with my lifegroup.

Everyone played super hard the day!

Won all 3 matches, but we didnt have enough points to go into the finals.

Got so hungry after the match, ate

-Packet of lays chips

-Cha sao bao

-Siu Mei

-Chocolates

-Packet of malay rice

-Roti prata

-Chincken wings

That's a lot... hehehe

And realise I had a slight sunburnt, face and arms are red hot.

I'm a person who will get sunburnt easily, not a good thing.

Got healed for the 1st time!

Josephine got healed for the 1st time, believe it or not!!!
hohohohoho!!!
I have been having bad flu, the trought struck badly by the flu, for 1 whole week.
Didnt get better by day, got worst only loh...
But today i just so filled by the spirit, so believe He gonna heal me right on the spot.
Sherie and michelle prayed tgt with me.
It is so amazing you can feel the block in my nose clearing (flow down all the way from nose, pass down my trought, and cleared to don't know where!)
JUST REMOVED!

Everytime I sick last time, I just let it heal by itself.
But last time I do pray for people to get healed, and they are healed.
But I didnt experience it in my body before, so this is the 1st time.
And I super thank God!!!

Before getting prayed over, I heard the holy spirit just told me, this is nothing to Him.
Yeah, wat is flu to him, nothing man...
Nothing is impossible in Him!!!

Tml arh, when I go work I'm so gonna tell everyone that I was healed by God.
Cos they seem me so sick in work, they wont believe I am healed tonight =)

Hong Kong - Day 1

Checking into Habour Hotel (mini small cosy room).
After that we went to take a bus up to the peak, to wax muesume.
The rain and wind was so strong up there.
BURRRRRR

I realise one thing in Hong Kong, there is so many caucasian & phillippians staying there. Around 40% are them. Which is shocking to me.

At night, we wanted to find the warehouse sport shop in Tsim Sha Po, but failed to. But walking along there I realise the rich and the poor are extreme.

Hong Kong - Day 2

It is also the day of enlightening, every corner was so beautiful. I just can't stop snapping photos.
It is so amazing that I met Eileen (Singapore friend) in Hong Kong, 2 times in a day!!!
Chinese saying "you yuan ren".
Once in Disney, another time at night in of the night market (Ladies Market)
We are man, Eileen.

I bought a hat and a belt from there too. yeah.

Shen Zhen - Day 3

Today we need to change hotel (to a bigger one, family room)
To Sing Ho Hotel, not bad. Low rate and near MTR.
Good Good

A day in Shen Zhen. It is so hard to go free & easy tour as a whole family. Because everyone has different opinion and likes to do different stuff. So when we come to Shen Zhen my brother shop like mad, he bought many suff, cos the guys stuff are much cheaper than Singapore. While my dad don't like to shop at all.

Yup. But both of them will be leaving Hong Kong back to Singapore, as my brother needs to go to school. Last day for them.

Hong Kong - Day 4

I find it so troubled not to speak cantonese. I just know how to listen a little, as I am a hokkien person. In Hong Kong so many people communicate in cantonese (in the MTR, bus, buying stuff, etc.)

It is time, to brush up my cantonese after brushing up my english!
By then I will be able to communicate in english, chinese, hokkien and cantonese =)
Maybe next time learn malayu from my parents, cos they are good at it.

Today went to take cable car up to one the hill. Then to Tsim Sa Sui, to look at the Hong Kong scenery. Sitting by the sea with my mum. We seat there, chat and relax for 3 hours. Didnt realise it was sooooooooo long....At night we went to Temple Street, Jordon Market. For window shopping, just look around what they sell and what are the food they serve there.

Macau - Day 5

Went to Macau (took a turbo jet there), yeah man =)

But the turbo jet trip is so expensive.
1st trip got a free business class seat, when we just bought the economic class.

Really thank God.

Cos the economic class ran out of seats, so they give us the business class. WOHO

Business class is so different, service was super!!!

In this trip I realise that I'm not really good in read map. sob sob...
hahahaha...Josephine is not good at many things.

Lets talk about Macau, it's a beautiful place. Very nice place to relax and for sightseeing.

Hong Kong - Day 6

Its the last day.

After traveling to a handful of places, I still like Taiwan the best.

But this Hong Kong trip had a very different experience. They have a very different culture from the rest of the countries I have been.

They are not very polite, but their cantonese sound so nice, which make me wanna learn that dialect too =)

Baptism

He sticked this on his door two weeks ago.

My brother decided to baptise two weeks ago.
He was baptised in Jurong Christ Church on 4 April 2010.
Whole family went there to withness it, awesome stuff.
It is amazing to see him change so much, during his secondary school life.
From a boy who come home late, and scolding bad words, listening to rock music....

Yesterday I was ask why did Jesus die on the cross for?
-for the lost (people who yet not save, and not know Him)

And why am I still on earth?
-is to tell more people about how much God loves us.
(sometimes I forgot about it, caught up on things that I'm busy doing. And did not do the very thing that I'm here on earth for)

The only thing that set us apart from the people who dont know Chirst is being selfless and to bring in the lost.
If we are not doing that, then we are no difference.
Cos that is the very heart beat of Jesus Christ.
Make disciples of all nations.

I'm not a special person, and also not greater than anyone of you.
I'm also just a sinner safe by Grace.

Recently been serving with lots of joy!!!!
I really mean joy that will last forever.

Been going through all lot this few weeks, many new things to do.
Things that I didnt do it before or gone through before.
Things that I cant do, if God is not in the picture!!!!
He gave me lots of opportunity to serve.
I saw how God gave me the courage to overcome all my fears.

But what I say is I'm moving forward.

Recently just went to Suntec with my mum.
My dad drop us nearby, so he do not need to find parking lot.
So in the end I bought things that I need, a Toshiba mini black laptop and a 640 GB hard disk.

OHHHHHH.
Spent nearly my whole month pay in the IT fair.
Heart broken... saving money for my oversea studies, no spending other non-necessary stuff.

First day nothing much.
Cos was traveling the whole day from 1pm to 10pm on the Malaysia highway.
My dad was driving from Singapore to Penang.

What do we do in the car???!!!!
-listen to CNY and christian musics
-playing many iphone games (competition with each other=)
-watch movie (with my brother's laptop)
-eat food (mummy has prepared)
-taking photos (along the highways)

Finally reach Penang.
Got to watch TV shows tgt with my grandfather till 1am. heheheeheehehe
and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz in the village room. (simple bed with nothing else)

Wake super early in the morning..............dot dot dot....
I WANT MORE SLEEP!!!

Wake up at 6.30am, cos it is the day where all my father's side familys need to gather to see our past away grandparents.
Met all my cousins there. Chat chat chat......talk a lot.
Was so happy to see them.
After visiting our grandparents, we went to eat at this restruant (been eatting for 4 years every CNY) =0
My cousins and I was so .......... thinking why cant we go other restruant eat...
But it was not up to us to decide, is the adult who does it.

HAHAHAHAHA. Great time with my cousins. But I wont be with them next year CNY. sad...
cos will be in England studying next year, wont be going back to Penang.
Treasure this time lotzzz.

After eatting my family went to hospital...

Sunday!!!! 1st day of house visitation.

Went to my dad's big brother house.
Everyone one of them (their sibillings and kids) gather at the house.
We ate "mee sua" + egg tgt.
Watch movie while eatting, chatting with all my cousins.
See them twice a year, but chat on msn almost everyday =) ha

After visitation, went shopping with family at a shopping mall called Preangin Mall.-hope I didnt spell it wrongly...
Bought a sandles (i like it) and 3 DVDS.
Drink coffee tgt as a family in Starbarks for the first time. hohoho
Hardly have time to do things tgt as a family in Singapore :(
In Penang we like stick tgt the whole day =)

Monday, second day of house visitation. (Grandmother's sister house)

Visited one house today, a house where super hot!!!
It has this zinc roof that absorb heat, hohohohoho
Worst fan not working...
Fortunately there is this tv that is entertaining me.
Showing one hong kong movie which is quite nice.
I drunk 4 cans of gessy drink in the house, to cool myself down.
But she has great lovely snack there, tast very nice.
And birds singing outside the window. =)
hehehehehe

Went back home, took a long shower.
Dinner.
Majong
Sleep....

Tuesday, 3rd day of house visitation. (2 beautiful houses)

One house by the sea. (grandfather's eldest sister)
It is a very special house. Love to go there. Sitting on the bench, feel the breeze.
Another in town. (grandfather's youngest sister)
The one in the town, was a super big nice bangelow, aircondition the whole house.

Went to buy "BA QUA" after house visitation.
No mei zhen xiang there, only got this nice one called wo lai yea.

Eatting non-stop the whole day.
Went running around my grandfather house area.
Beautiful place to run at, you can see beautiful sunset at this tower nearby. :)
Had not been running in Singapore, due to busy life-style.
Got to run today in Penang, it feels great!
Love it.
Running use to be my hobby =)

Will source out time to run when I back in Singapore too.

Wednesday!!!!!
4th day of house visitation.
As usual went to two houses today. (My grandpa 4th & 5th brothers' houses)

One of the house has many dogs outside, small white and black ones.
Cute but smelly.
Went to their house, take many red packets, and also eat a lot of their snacks.
Gaining weight day after day...dot dot

Decided to go for a cycling trip, around my grandfather house :)
Borrowed my cousin bicycle, and cycle tgt with my dad for 1 hour.
Exhausted! good excersie =)

Cycle home, bathe with mountain water, eat grandmother cooking for dinner.

Thursday its the most exciting and unexpected day of all!!!!!
hahahahahaha....later you will know why.

In the day time there is nothing much, playing with my mum iphone and watch tv.
Cycle abit here and there. And watch Spiderman 3 with my cousins.

But at night it was so!!!!
I went to this dinner. My uncle bought many tables, for his sibillings and kids to go eat dinner tgt. There was lion dance too, nice, and fire crackers, fireworks.
It was a dinner orgainise by one of the opposition party in Malaysia.
ha, I got to see the big shoots in close distance.
There were so many body guards around to protect them.
And many reporters are there.
We eat and hear their speach at the same time.
Got a video that I took when one of them was on stage. (take a look)

The opposition party in Malaysia is so different from Singapore ones.
And my uncle is one of the members, so was invited for this dinner.
Rare opportunity indeed :)

It's Friday, I love Friday cos is always the last day of work, then there will 2 non-working days.
But in Penang, everyday is like Saturday and Sunday! No difference :)

Friday what I did???
Morning watch TV, 3 drama series on malaysia ASTRO.
Then went to market buy some fish and chilli for my grandmother.

Afternoon swing swing, sit on the swing at my grandparents house, super relax.
Then play majong and watch the movie "2010" till night.

After bathing and dinner, my dad drive us out (my cousin, aunty, mum and me) to this FRIDAY NIGHT MARKET. There are super a lot of variety of food, a lot more than Singapore.
So of cos we bought many food back home to eat from there.
I was so blotted after eatting so much!!!
and worst thing, I sleep straight after eatting. =)

It is Saturady.
Time flies.
Morning eat breakfast, watch Totally Spice and Price of Greed together with my cousin.
Then help my uncle feed his dogs, and water the durian plantation.
Went to wash car tgt with my dad.
We use the mountain water wash, so cool right???!!!

At night my uncle (mummy eldest brother) brought us out to eat very nice food at this place called "Panta Araceh". Eat chilli fish and many more....

Went back home continue to play majong, and teach a 1 year old child to walk (cousin kid)

Last day of being a village girl... Abit sad...
cos love the place, love the people there.
Last I did not waste it.
Morning went to help my grandmother make "Ang Gu Kueh", after bathing.
She has not enough time to make all the orders, so I went to help her in the outdoor kitchen.
There was many orders came in due to Chinese New Year.
And my grandmother is good in making Kueh.
MUST try if you get a chance to come Penang.

After helping her, my dad drive me down to visit one of my aunty at her house.
I call her "Xiao Gu" in chinese :)
Ate some very nice CNY snacks at her house.
And her husband gave me Avata DVD, hahahaha, i do not need to go buy already....hehehehehe

The family brought me eat some nice chinese food nearby.
(curry fish, chilli vegetables, vegetables soup, prawns)
After eatting went to buy some Penang famous peanut biscults, back to Singapore.
For friends :)

Went back to my grandparents house, to pack all my stuff.
Prepare to get back to Singapore.

Play majong again till midnight, waiting for my relatives to pray to their gods.
Is a big event for all hokkien people.
They prepare a lot of food.
And they let go lots of fire crackers that day :)

After everything, we are to set off back to Singapore at 3am.
My dad was driving all the way till 11am.
Finally reach Singapore, and I went to work straight.
Was so tired during work. ha

I've been going east coast park with a friend every friday for a month le.... whether rain or shine we will go. Go there for wat????? Of cos go there to cycle :)
But today my friend got headache, can't go le....so watching Beethovan Virus Drama now.

I am abit dont like studio shooting. It is tough for me. I super enjoy outdoor shooting, and shooting the natural with my angle.

Ok why i dont like studio shooting, especially product studio shoot. Cos everything you need to create urself. (lightings need to create urself, background, shadow, reflection, colours, texture all need to do urself) VERY TIRING.
